Nintendo’s latest portable game system, the DSi, launched just a few weeks ago. However, it’s already embroiled in controversy about whether it can really stand up to it’s greatest competitor, the Sony PSP. Especially in the visual arena, the PSP is well known for its amazingly sharp colors and outstanding graphics.
True to Nintendo tradition, graphics on the DSi remain playful and cartoon-like. It is compact, with no dramatic control changes from the DS Lite. While the Sony PSP 3000 has a built-in joystick and very useful shoulder buttons, it lacks a second analog stick could present future gaming possibilities.
The Sony PSP 3000 has an anti-glare screen which is larger than that of the DSi. This allows the gamer to easily play in daylight, and also produces images that are more detailed and sharper in any type of light. However, on the DSi, the screens are touch sensitive, and a plug-in light is available as an accessory if you would like improved visibility.
Although the Nintendo DSi could possibly fall into the role of a more of a kid-friendly portable game system, the Nintendo DSi has managed to reach an older audience via their Brain Training series of games. However, the proliferation of Hello Kitty accessories does not help the case for adults using the Nintendo DSi.
Though weve been hearing rumblings of a successor to the Nintendo DS for this morning Nintendo finally officially announced its new handheld game system — one that plays games in 3D. ……Referred to as the Nintendo 3DS the new handheld system will be capable of playing games in 3D without the need of any special glasses. Also the 3DS will be backwards compatible with current Nintendo DS and DSi titles.
